Also known as Frisian Clove cheese. Developed in the Dutch province of Friesland. Or known as 'Nagelkaas' which translates to 'Nail cheese' as the black cloves resemble black unwashed nails. As unappealing as that discription is the Cumin & Cloves Gouda is a strong, firm cheese with a sharp hit of cumin to start which is rounded off with cloves at its end. Perfect for a winter or Christmas cheese board.
